The McGuire Gallery was named after founding board of governor Rev. David McGuire. Photograph features Gary Hetherington and Jay Phipps of Humber's Instructional Materials Centre visit the exhibit. Located on the first floor of building "K". It served as a display room on the North Campus for art from both the college and the community. It was closed in 1976 to provide room for the Photography program.
Item is a photograph of Frank A. Ryan, the supervisor of the Queensway Campus technical division -- talking to a student next to the Elox Electrical Discharge Machine (EDM). At the time, the EDM was a modern machining technique and training on this specialized equipment was available 2 evenings a week in a 12 week course.
