File includes a 50th anniversary special issue of Time Magazine discussing Pearl Harbour, published 2 December 1991, An October 1988 issue of Saturday Night with a feature written by Denise Chong, entitled "Secrets of Chinatown", a newsclipping from the 30 May 1986 edition of the Globe and Mail discussing a British magazine's challenge of plagiarism towards Maclean's magazine, a section from 4 February 1992 edition of The Toronto Star discussing the Year of the Monkey and providing information about other signs in the Chinese zodiac, and a photocopied newsclipping of a contribution to The Toronto Star by Rebecca Bragg, discussing the Chinese zodiac.
File consists of printouts of archival material from the museum's website about San Francisco's Chinatown. Pieces include: "Chinatown Declared a Nuisance!", distributed by the Workingmen's Committee of California and "The Kearney-Kalloch Epoch" by Jerome A. Hart. Kalloch was the mayor of San Francisco from 1879-1881. Kearney was an anti-Chinese immigration agitator and leader of the Workingmen's Committee of California. File also includes some pages which have been duplicated,"Golden Legacy Curriculum" which includes information on the custom of foot binding, and brief write ups on Chinatown, foreign colonies, the Chinatown Tong Wars of the 1920s, history of the construction of the Golden Gate Bridge, and screenshots of archival footage from Chinatown, dated 1902.
File consists of financial documents from the Central Savings and Loan, including deposit certificates connected to a savings account. These were issued in mainland China before Communism. File also includes two scripts for plays in Cantonese, a receipt, and miscellaneous elementary school textbooks.
File consists of material sent to Wayson by Robert Yip about Quene Yip. Robert was Quene's son. Material includes a Vancouver Chinese High School and University Student's Association 1931 booklet with an article written by Quene Yip, urging the repeal of the Chinese Immigration Act. It notes that Quene Yip relocated to Texada Island in 1941 and was not in Vancouver for protests in the 1940s. File also includes transcripts from a 1998 CBC radio production, "A Level Playing Field", which discusses the Chinese Students Athletic Association and youth soccer club Quene Yip was a member of in Vancouver's Chinatown, and a brief write-up about www.asian.ca.
