This was a previous Humber item. Used by college as part of accessibility label “special needs”.
The date code given with this item is General Electric’s four digital code style. The four digital date code breaks down to the first digit being between 1-7 with each corresponding to a day of the week (Monday as 1 through Sunday as 7), the second digital being between 0-9 which each corresponding to the last digit of the year it was made, and last two digits range from 01-52 which each corresponding to the week of the year it was made. This style of dating started in 1976 and ended around 1985 so there is little confusion with the year since each year was only used once before this code was stopped. The date code on this item is “1831”. The date of this item was determined using this code structure. The “4” means it was on Thursday, the “8” for 1978, and the “31” for the 31st week of the year. After conferring with a calendar, the item was made Monday August 3, 1978.
