Police Academy is a Ladd Company and Warner Bros. film. All of the cottage buildings on the Lakeshore Grounds were used in this 1980s comedy blockbuster, both inside and out, as well as the cricket pitch to the south and the shoreline. The campus became the Police Academy where instructors must contend with a wave of unconventional recruits after the city’s new mayor removes all restrictions on enrolment. The Police Academy movies offer a glimpse into what the Lakeshore Psychiatric Hospital looked like before the campus fell into disrepair in the 1980s. Interior bedrooms, offices, and even shower stalls are seen in the film as they appeared at the time of the closing of the hospital.

A Press Kit is a form of advertising/marketing for a film. Press kits are used to draw attention to a film and to reach as many professionals and viewers as possible. It is an image booklet of the film which also contains detailed information about the project.
