This is a specific chunni used during a pre wedding ceremony called a “chunni chadai” during this ceremony, the groom’s family drapes the chunni over the bride's head, resembling a veil. This gesture symbolizes the groom’s family taking the initial steps to welcome the bride into their family. Typically, the chunni is a shade of red, chosen to complement the bride's skin tone, and features a gold tassel border known as “gota.”
This Chunni was designed by my father and grandmother, in collaboration with local artisans called Karigaars in Punjab who hand-sew every detail.
Women’s Scarf which is a part of a 3 piece outfit of a top and bottom as well.
