General note
My grandfather had served for the Royal family of Bhutan for more than 25 years. It was when the 3rd King of Bhutan reigned (1952-1972), Often times, my grandpa used to receive gifts from the King. One of them was the Gho that my grandpa gifted me.
The Gho(which my grandpa previously owned) was given to me by my grandfather as a gift when i was about 10 yrs old. The Gho was hand woven in around the early 1900s. For that reason, It holds a special meaning and value to me.
On my 16th birthday, my grandpa gifted me his treasured Gho—a piece with a legacy. This wasn’t just any Gho; it was one personally given to him by Bhutan's 3rd King during his reign. Knowing it carries such a profound history makes it incredibly meaningful to me. Wearing it, I feel connected to Bhutan’s culture and to the generations before me. This Gho isn’t just clothing; it’s a symbol of heritage, honor, and the timeless bond between my grandfather and me.
