Fire Hose Reel

Metal fire hose reel composed on two spider reels connected via metal bars and spindle trunnion. A pipe is attached to the trunnion where a water hose can be attached. A series of pipe elbows are connected to the trunnion pipe leading to an attached water valve. The exterior of the outward-facing reel spider is painted red and displays an inscription about the item’s patent, inventor, and place of origin.

Yip Family research materials

File consists of research materials relating to the Yip Family of Vancouver. The file includes a newspaper feature written about Charlie Hoy, correspondence between Robert Yip and Wayson, other news articles, duplicated photographs of the Ladies Auxillary from Victoria Yip's personal collection, and transcripts of an oral history interviews with Chik Wai (Victor) Leung conducted in 1985. File also includes a biography of his wife, Susanne Ling Yipsang by Eleanor S.P. Leung, an autobiography written by Chik Wai Leung, at age 81, in 1978, and original correspondence between Art and Quene Yip from 1929. Art writes "Chinatown is dead now". The Yips feature in several of Wayson's novels and memoirs.

Black and white horizontal photograph. The majority of the photograph is three rows of people, some sitting and some standing. The front row of people consist of eighteen people sitting with their legs together and hands folded in their lap. The two people second and third from the middle on the left and right are wearing dark coloured suits and the rest are wearing all white: long sleeve shirt, skirt, tights, shoes and hat. The second row of people consists of twenty-one people standing with their arms at their sides. All of them have a white pinafore, grey long sleeve shirt under, and a white hat. The third row, which is slightly higher than the second, of people consists of twenty people standing with their arms at their sides. All of them have a white pinafore, grey long sleeve shirt under, and a white hat. Behind the third person from each end in the back, there are three Union Jack flags hung on the wall. Behind the middle ten people in the top row, there is a nature scene consisting of fir trees and water which ahs some decorated columns beside it. The floor everyone is standing on is a wood floor made of panels. To the side of each row, there are sets of staircases visible in the background. In the centre of the bottom edge and at the bottom right corner, there are rows of white text which appears as if they were hand-written. The photograph is held within a white frame.

Tile

Terracotta square tile. On the front it is terracotta with green paint creating a curved diagonal line. On the back, there is a maker's mark reading "Ontario Brick & Tile Plant , Provincial Secretary’s Dept." There are diagonal lines imprinted on back side.

Lake Shore Boulevard office on the Boardwalk

Front: A colour image of a white square building with a brown slanted roof along a wooden boardwalk. The building has yellow, blue, and red striped overhangs above the windows. On the front of the building, there is a door, a union jack flag on a pole at the top of the point formed by the roof, and brown vertical and horizontal stripes within the triangle section. Around the building, there are some flowers and plants. Around the building and boardwalk, there is green grass. Behind the building, there is a blue sky with white clouds, a blue body of water, and a yellow beach.

Back: Beige blank back divided back. There is a double line down the center of the page and a short double line in the centre along the top. There is a vertical rectangle in the top right corner. There are a couple of lines of text down the left edge. At the bottom centre, there is a coat of arms and some text.
