(Medical & Nursing Staff) Ontario Hospital. Mimico-Ont. Apr. 1935

Black and white horizontal photograph. The majority of the photograph is three rows of people, some sitting and some standing. The front row of people consist of eighteen people sitting with their legs together and hands folded in their lap. The two people second and third from the middle on the left and right are wearing dark coloured suits and the rest are wearing all white: long sleeve shirt, skirt, tights, shoes and hat. The second row of people consists of twenty-one people standing with their arms at their sides. All of them have a white pinafore, grey long sleeve shirt under, and a white hat. The third row, which is slightly higher than the second, of people consists of twenty people standing with their arms at their sides. All of them have a white pinafore, grey long sleeve shirt under, and a white hat. Behind the third person from each end in the back, there are three Union Jack flags hung on the wall. Behind the middle ten people in the top row, there is a nature scene consisting of fir trees and water which ahs some decorated columns beside it. The floor everyone is standing on is a wood floor made of panels. To the side of each row, there are sets of staircases visible in the background. In the centre of the bottom edge and at the bottom right corner, there are rows of white text which appears as if they were hand-written. The photograph is held within a white frame.

Grace

Vertical colour painting. The top right corner has a head of a bird extending diagonally down the page to about the middle of the canvas. The head is light blue with white details. At the end, there is a orange beak with black around the mouth and eyes. The eye is black and brown. The background around the head and the top of the page is black. The rest of the image is multiple rows of feathers that start white and become a darker blue as they go down. At the bottom left corner there is a hand written name.

Date Stamp

Date stamp made of metal and rubber on the bottom half and wood on the top half. The half has an egg-shaped red handle which is flat on the front and has gold writing. The handle is attached to a horizontal piece of silver metal which curves downwards on the front and back sides. On the left and right of the horizontal metal, there is a rectangular piece of silver metal which narrows as it goes down. Held within the metal pieces are four moveable bands made of grey rubber with words and numbers on them. Between the metal frames and bands, there is a white gear.

The report was written by the first Director of our Nursing program (Marilyn Barras), and covers the curriculum, admission, placement, and other topics. The report also includes several appendices relating to the creation of the Nursing program, including correspondence, agreements, and other material.
