General note
The costume takes inspiration from a region close to Zagreb, Croatia's capital. In the olden days, people use to wear this as their everyday wear. Now, it is used for performances/dances to honour their culture and ancestors.
This piece was made by my Baba (grandmother), Mira Tanfara, for my mother, Marie Tanfara to perform dance and tamburica in. The nošnja is our culture and history put into an outfit, and the fact that it was made by my Baba makes it even more special. Lots of time and dedication was spent to make the outfit what it is, and the attention to detail is amazing!
