There is one figure who is hanging outside of the basket wearing a yellow shirt, jeans, and one white shoe, the other shoe is to the left of his left foot. On the left in the basket, there is a figure in a leather jacket, a white scarf, and a helmet holding a gun with ammunition rows hanging off his arm. Beside the ammunition, there is another white and grey bird flying with its wings pointing upwards. In the basket above the man with the yellow shirt, there is a figure holding onto the basket with one hand and above the figure is another with his hand in a salute gesture. To the left of the salute, there is another figure with his arm down holding onto the yellow shirt. To the right of the saluting figure, there is a figure with sun glasses, a partly open shirt, and a fun in her hand. Below is a figure with his tie hanging down the side of the basket and a megaphone in his hand. Below the megaphone is a police hat with a spot of white on it. Above the figure with the megaphone, is another holding a small gun with both hands. The figure on the right of the balloon is in a suit and tie holding a pair of binoculars. Below the balloon are a few lines of blue text at the bottom right corner.

Police Academy is a Warner Bros. film. In this fourth installment of the Police Academy series, Commandant Lassard (George Gaynes) has launched a new program to train civilian officers: Citizens on Patrol (C.O.P.). The hijinks of the earlier films continue with the Lakeshore Grounds and cottages, inside and out, again standing in for the Police Academy campus. During filming, a full-size swimming pool was constructed on the grounds in the culvert to the east of F Building. This was the film Police Academy movie to film on the Lakeshore Grounds.
The image on the poster is drawn by well-known movie poster artist Drew Struzan. Drew Struzan started his career illustrating album covers in the 1960s and 70s. From there, he began illustrating and designing movie posters in the 1980s and 90s. He created posters for block buster series like Indiana Jones and Star Wars. Struzan’s work became well known and many directors (such as George Lucas, Steven Spielberg, and Guillermo Del Toro) asked for him specifically to do work for their films. Struzan mainly focused on movie posters until he retired in 2015 after finishing his final movie poster for the film Star Wars Episode VII. He continues to create but not for film and music purposes.
