To the left of him is a person who is in the shape of a circle wearing a red and white polka dotted one piece outfit. Beside the red outfit person, there is a yellow and white lightning bolt. Below the red outfit person, there is a grey brick castle with various towers and windows. Strange Brew is a Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer film. Beloved SCTV characters Bob and Doug McKenzie filmed their post-apocalyptic movie-in-a-movie opening on the shoreline of Lake Ontario and on the cricket pitch south of the cottages. The lawns of G and H Buildings later served as the site of the Oktoberfest scene in this film where the brothers attempt to swindle free beer but soon find themselves mixed up in a more nefarious plot. In a foretelling moment, the production was required to call the beer retailer in the film “The Beer Store” as they were refused use of the name “Brewer’s Retail” by the province. “Brewer’s Retail” subsequently adopted the name “Beer Store” in later years.
