Scope and content

A horizontal black and white film still. The image shows a man and woman standing next to each other in an office. The man (on the left) is wearing a light coloured suit, a striped tie, and a white button up shirt. The woman (on the right) has shoulder length curly hair and is wearing a white short sleeve shirt, a geometric patterned skirt, and a black belt with her hands together in front of herself. To the left of the two, there is a woman standing in front of a desk with a fan on top of it wearing a white and polka-dotted suit jacket, a black skirt, a black belt, and a black bag on her shoulder. In front of the two, there are out of focused desks with lit lamps and two people sitting at the front desk. To the right of the two, there is a cork board on the wall with a few posters and a filing cabinet in front. Behind the two, there is a cinderblock wall on the right, and a door to the left. Around the image is a white border with black text below the image. The image is held within a black frame.

Stanley & Iris is a Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer, Lantana, and Star Partners II Ltd. film. This romance follows the story of Iris King (Jane Fonda), a recent widow, and Stanley Cox (Robert DeNiro), an illiterate short-order cook. Stanley is forced to check his father Leonides (Feodor Chaliapin Jr.) into the State Home for the Aged when he can no longer care for him. A room inside the cottages serves as Leonides’ bedroom with several scenes shot along the lawns outside the cottages as well as the cricket pitch at the south of campus. In spite of the all-star cast, this film was considered a box office flop. It was also Jane Fonda’s final film before a fifteen-year hiatus, ending when she starred in Monster-in-Law in 2005.

A Press Kit is a form of advertising/marketing for a film. Press kits are used to draw attention to a film and to reach as many professionals and viewers as possible. It is an image booklet of the film which also contains detailed information about the project.
